Fossil Record acoustic duo Oct 23 10pm $5 cover
by admin on Oct.08, 2009, under Live Music
The Fossil Record acoustic is a singer/songwriter duo from Columbia, SC whose unique sound is defined by tight vocal harmonies and witty lyrics. While drawing influence from older forms of music from Cabaret to bluegrass and country blues, their style remains fresh and shows that they are acutely aware of what it takes to write a modern pop song. Between the two of them Casey Hammett and Chris Compton have many years experience playing in former bands Crip Hill Ramblers and Lapis Lazuli, and gigging in North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia. After performing the roles of Jesus and Judas, respectively, in Jesus Christ Superstar, Chris and Casey decided to form a band that would bring together their disparate songwriting talents and keen ears for harmony.

by admin on Oct.01, 2009, under Live Music
Brian Ashley Jones is a soulful singer, accomplished lead guitarist, and versatile songwriter. Described as “Blues Grass”, Jones’ music is heavily influenced by the guitar driven blues, bluegrass, folk, country, and rock that he absorbed in his hometown, Spartanburg, South Carolina. Now based in Nashville, Tennessee, Jones maintains an active touring schedule and performs about 150 live shows per year at festivals, concert series, radio shows, and songwriter venues as well as leading workshops around the country as part of Nashville Songwriters Association International’s Pros On The Road program. Brian had heard about the Capri Theater from other musicians all the way out in Nashville and wanted to be part of the effort to give singer/songwriters a venue to perform in the upstate.
