by admin on Nov.25, 2010, under Comedy show
Katie Hughes is a perfect blend of smart and silly, making her a comics comic and a crowds favorite. Katie’s wild imagination, clever writing and energetic irreverence make her a force to be reckoned with on stage. Katie has been featured on Rooftop Comedy and Laugh your Asheville off Comedy Festival 2009 and 2010. She won 3rd place at this years funniest damn comedians in the Carolinas at DSI Comedy Theater and plans to kick someone in the balls next year to take 1st.
Michael Robinette possesses a magnetic personality that makes him impossible to ignore. With his quirky observations and wide range of emotion and energy Michael is capable of connecting with any audience. He performs regularly throughout the southeast and has been featured in the Marshall Chiles and Friends showcase at the Laughing Skull in Atlanta, and joined the ranks of Atlanta’s favorite comics at the Dogwood Home Grown Comedy Binge. He has also showcased at the Village Lantern and at the Living Room in New York City. He has shared the stage with Margaret Cho, Marshall Chiles, Jarrod Harris, Andy Sanford, David Stone, T.J. Young, Joe Zimmerman, Katie Hughes, Carlos Valencia, and many more.
Justin Blackburn began laughing at himself around the age of six and has not looked back.
In collaboration with Kenny Norsworthy, Blackburn created a controversial stir with the US Government with their powerful novel Gifted Disabilties (2005). This novel caused quite an uproar in the underground world, especially with lead singer of the acclaimed Fat Possum Records’s band The Company, Brian Hannon, who published a collection of Blackburn and Norsworthy’s early poetry It’s Hard To Get There When You Are Already There, which led to Justin Blackburn being voted Upstate Poet Of The Year in The Beat Magazine in 2007.
Chris Weathers, Chris Weathers is an easily noticeable person with a baby’s brain. Something of a righteously indignant doofus, Chris provides an offbeat vibrance that works perfectly with his gleeful jokes. He was a finalist in the Rocky Top Comedy Contest and a finalist in your hearts. He has shared the stage with Margaret Cho, Kyle Kinane, and Rory Scovel, to name three. If he doesn’t leave you with a smile, then go home and get your shinebox.

by admin on Nov.17, 2010, under Live Music
As part of our Saturday Night Open Mic Series,
we like to host many of the local bands here and give them a premier venue to help get them ready for shows on the road. These guys were here a few months ago performing Rock Ballard Classics from Journey, Styx, Def Leppard and even Motley Crue “Home sweet home”. The band is made up of Chad, Chris, Christopher and Alex Taylor who are known all over the upstate as one of the best groups in Battle of the Bands tour.
